Google Cloud launches threshold signing to secure bank crypto reserves
Google Cloud has introduced Multi-Party Compute (MPC), a digital asset signing system designed to secure cryptocurrencies for banks and institutions without relying on a single private key. By splitting cryptographic key shares across isolated execution environments and requiring threshold collaboration to sign transactions, the platform eliminates single points of failure without ever reconstructing the full key in memory. The system incorporates granular transaction policy controls—including spending caps and approved destination lists—and is currently securing internal digital assets across Ethereum and Solana ahead of a commercial rollout targeted for early 2027.
