Cloudflare has updated its lightweight `cloudflared` utility with Protected Quick Tunnels, bringing simple accountless authentication directly to local development environments. When coding assistants spin up a preview server on localhost, a single command now generates a secure, authenticated endpoint without forcing developers or agents through sign-up forms. The update also adds structured JSON logging output, making it trivial for automated agents to parse connection URLs and securely expose local previews on the fly.
