Ethereum proposes EIP-8288 for recursive mempool proof aggregation

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin introduced EIP-8288, outlining a protocol shift toward recursive STARK aggregation inside network mempools. Instead of individual validating nodes re-executing heavy zero-knowledge verification routines, entry nodes bundle and aggregate private transaction proofs off-chain. The mechanism compresses verification costs from nearly 10 million gas down to tens of thousands per batch. By embedding recursive STARK proofs directly into mempool routing, the proposal establishes the foundation for Ethereum's transition to a fully zero-knowledge cryptographic world computer without overburdening validator hardware requirements.
